Another software recommendation. I picked up the DVDPedia and BookPedia products. I was able to catalog my entire DVD collection in a very short amount of time.
One thing I wish these products had was a more open data store. Perhaps a MySQL backend so that you can easily incorporate your collection data into other programs. You can export but then you of course have to do the conversion from either HTML, XML or text files.
Still worth a look if you want to catalog your collections.
