Today we rode the Brass Monkey Century sponsored by the Northern Kentucky Cluster of the Cincinnati Cycle Club. This 101 mile route was full of climbs (8,600+ feet of them). The weather didn’t live up to the Brass Monkey standards, it was beautiful. With the sun shining and the temperature at 50 degrees we enjoyed a great day of riding.
Within the first 10 miles I had two flat tires. Many of the counties in that area use cinders on the road during winter. Those cinders tore up my tires in short order. Barry came through with a spare tire and I managed to finish the ride without any more flats.
